MasterCard maakt bekend gemaakt dat het 10 Payment Service Providers uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk aan zich heeft weten te binden. Door de overeenkomst groeit het aantal potentiële merchants dat betalingen via een mobiele wallet kan accepteren.
PayPass biedt een contactloze betaalmogelijkheid. Het kan worden gekoppeld aan iedere MasterCard of Maestro credit-, debit of prepaidcard. Wereldwijd is PayPass nu beschikbaar in 48 landen en heeft het bij ruim 550.000 merchants het mobiele kassasysteem geïnstalleerd. In mei maakten wij al bekend dat Ogone Payment Services, als eerste Europese psp, een partnerschap sloot met PayPas Wallet.
Grote Britse Payment Service Providers als Worldpay en Sage Pay zijn overeengekomen om de wallet van PayPass op te nemen in hun aanbod van betaalmethodes. Daardoor is een groot aantal online- en multichannel-retailers direct in de gelegenheid om mee te liften op het groeiende succes van de m-commerce.
